Use ICT safely, responsibly and ethically

As previously mentioned having access to the school ICT policy is imperative, along with an understanding of the legislative requirements of duty of care and mandatory reporting. This of course is an emerging area in terms of ICT use outside of the classroom by students and teachers responsibility, in particular, with social media. Have a clearly defined TPAC – technological pedagogy – that is based on experience and sound theoretical foundations. For example, with the use of Facebook modelling appropriate behaviour as a teacher is often the first step in a sound pedagogical approach. Using a constructivist approach in students use of Facebook in that having the students themselves determine how the use of Facebook may be used as a learning tool, taking into account the social and cultural backgrounds of students.
